Congratulations to the owner, Ken Wisdom, and crew of this Arcona 435 Mk II on finishing Tjörn Runt 2nd in Class 8 on 17th August 2024, the class featuring the biggest boats. A brand new Arcona 435 Mk II ‘fresh out of the box’ for the USA that was only handed over in June! Awesome result!
With south-westerly winds of around 6-8 m/s, the race was run in perfect conditions – a lovely day at sea for all sailors. With more registered boats than in previous years, 230 boats participated, of which 210 crossed the finish line. The start took place at Askeröfjorden, and the course continued clockwise with the finish at Stigfjorden outside Skåpesund.
The award ceremony for Tjörn Runt by Cowi was held at Tjörnbro Arena, where prizes were awarded to the best places in each starting group, the overall winner and walking prizes.
The next Tjörn Runt takes place on August 16, 2025, as always on the third Saturday in August.
