Toby tested the Arcona 50 in La Rochelle for the European Yacht of the Year awards in October 2023. The Arcona 50 is shortlisted in the ‘luxury cruiser’ category and the award winners will be announced at boot Düsseldorf, 20-28 January 2024. Toby is one of the twelve top sailing magazine journalists on the judging panel.

Where: La Rochelle
Conditions: 9-17 knots wind, 0.5-1.5m swell
Model: hull No1 with extensive upgrades including in-boom furler, electric headsail furler, X-Drive carbon sails, Code 0 and gennaker, traveller, Flexiteek decks, uprated engine (110hp), bow and stern thrusters and generator.
