International Women’s Day 2022

08/03/22

This International Women’s Day we thought we would let you know a little more about some of the women behind the scenes and in front of the camera here at Arcona Yachts.

Ariadna Pons

Niels Jeppesen and Ariadna Pons are the designers of our new flagship, the Arcona 50.
Ariadna (Ari) has been raised around boats. Both parents being sailors, she started sailing before she could walk. Later on, she joined different crews of very different boats and sailing classes, including dinghy sailing.
Ari studied Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering at Universitat Politécnica de Catalunya, Barcelona, just before undertaking her Masters in Naval Architecture at the University of Southampton. After working together with Niels Jeppesen at X-Yachts, they joined forces to create the Naval Architecture Studio, Jeppesen & Pons.
In her spare time Ariadna enjoys all sports related to hydrodynamics and aerodynamics, from sailing to paragliding.

Hanna Ericksson

Hanna presents our webinars, works with Kate on Arcona Yachts Marketing and you’ll see her on Arcona social too.
She is proud to have finished the Rolex Middle Sea Race and to have won the Swedish Cup in sailing for KSSS.
This photo was taken when she was crew on a delivery trip of an Arcona 465 from Uddevalla to Gustavsberg.
When Hanna is not in front of the camera, she enjoys being on the slopes or out on the water racing.

Kate Porteous

Kate heads up the Marketing for Arcona Yachts. This photo was taken of her on her first ever family holiday, cruising the Caledonian Canal in Scotland. Most weekends and holidays during her childhood were happily spent messing around on boats; whether in the UK or out in the Med.
She’s spent the last 14 years working in luxury brand marketing at Le Creuset and Oyster Yachts.
Now a Mum too, there is nothing more relaxing for her than when she’s enjoying the Solent, with her husband and sons, on their boat.

Sanna Edholm

Sanna is currently sailing around the world with her husband and three children on their Arcona 400, Liv. After completing the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers (ARC), the family are currently in Antigua & Barbuda enjoying the snorkelling and Caribbean sunshine.
