Sixty six boats started the Raymarine 2Star event on the Swedish East Coast last weekend. The race is made up of three legs: Oxelösund – Visby, Visby – Oskarshamn, Oskarshamn – Oxelösund. The linear distance of the course was roughly 230NM.
The wind was mostly light and downwind which made it extremely hard for the standard Arcona 340, Tiki Minos, to compete. However after sailing for almost 47 hours, Tiki Minos crew Johan Karlsson & Michael Skarped finished second overall! Only beaten by a specially designed all carbon racing boat with more or less no interior.
It’s fantastic to see how well Johan and Michael performed with their Arcona 340 considering their yacht was exactly double the weight of the winner! Congratulations to Johan and Michael on a superb result and well done to all of those racing, especially the Arcona yachts.
